3R-BioMedicUS Lecture Series (WS25/26)

The lecture series gravitates around the 3R (Reduce, Refine, Replace) principles, covering state-of-the-art non-animal methodologies (ex vivo – work with patient material; de novo - tissue reconstruction; in silico – modeling approaches) for biomedical research, as well as laboratory animal welfare and the appropriate planning of animal experiments (in vivo).

If enrolled as a University of Stuttgart student, you can register to the course in several formats.

Students of the Technical Biology MSc program can join either the course on its own, or the 6 ECTS module (FASQ) containing the lecture and an additional seminar focusing on critical reflection:

  • Module 109960 “Critical Reflection and the 3R Principles in Research" – 6 ECTS
  • 119670000 “Lecture Series: 3R Models for Biomedical Research” – 3 ECTS
  • 552210002 “Critically Reflecting on Intelligent Systems in Society” Online seminar – 3 ECTS

Students of the MSc study programs Medical Engineering and Movement Science and Biomechanics can register to the lecture as a FÜSQ.
